Wallaman Falls Moonbow
It took me about 3 years to capture this magical moment of the fullmoon revealing Australia’s highest single-drop waterfall. Plunging 268 meter into the gorge, the water often reaches the bottom only as a cloud of mist, perfect conditions for a #moonbow .The first time I gazed upon this incredible view, I knew I wanted to capture one magical night which does this place justice. For 3 years in a row I came back, spending my nights taking thousands of images, trying to capture that perfect night I had imagined. The problem was that I needed one day where: - Where full moon was rising behind me in order to cast that shadow
- It had to be during northern Australia’s wet season as there wouldn’t have been enough water otherwise - The sky had to be clear in order to reveal the stars and don’t have clouds blocking/interfering with the moonlight
Well, there are about 3-4 days a year where this is possible and only if the skies are clear.
